Murl L. Hays

Murl Hays 2nd Photo 00183-year-old McLeansboro resident, Murl L. Hays, died at 1:05 p.m. Friday, August 9 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.  He was an oil field pumper.

Surviving are his wife Dolores;  three sons, Gary Hays of Paris, KY, and Jack Hays and Terry Hays both of McLeansboro; one daughter, Susan Combs of McLeansboro; four brothers, Charlie Hays of New Liberia, LA, Elwood Hays of Salem, IL, Jerry Prosise of Hoopeston, IL and Paul Prosise of Lone Grove, OK; two sisters, Nola Booher of St. Elmo, IL and Katherine Booher of Salem, IL; one brother-in-law, David Booher of Salem, IL; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Murl L. Hays will be at 1 p.m. Monday, August 12 at Harvey’s Point Christian Church in Cartter, IL.  Burial will be in Harveys Point Church Cemetery at Cartter, IL.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 11 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, which is in charge of the arrangements.
