77-year-old Dahlgren resident, Norman R. Cravens died at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 at his home. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in Korea. He had been a salesman, employed by Wabash Valley Service Company. He was a member of the Jefferson Lodge 0368 A.F.& A.M. of Opdyke, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Cravens of Dahlgren; a son, Scott Cravens of Dahlgren; two brothers; two sisters and 5 grandchildren, Aaron Scott, Austin Jeffrey, and Rylan Mellott Cravens of Dahlgren, Amy Green of Denver, CO and Briar Curd of Dahlgren.
Services for Norman R. Cravens will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27 at the Freedom Baptist Church in McLeansboro with burial in the Oddfellows Cemetery at Dahlgren. Graveside military rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 106 of Mcleansboro and a Military Honors Team from Marion, IL.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 Thursday evening, Sept. 26 at the Harre Funeral Home in Dahlgren and 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the Freedom Baptist Church in McLeansboro.
Memorials may be made to the Freedom Baptist Church and will be accepted at the Harre Funeral Home of Dahlgren, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
