Virginia F. Keiser
91-year-old Grayville resident, Virginia F. Keiser died at 2:22 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald and Joseph Ture and several grandchildren.
The body will be cremated with a service to be conducted later in Minnesota.
Nale's Funeral Home of Albion is in charge of all of the arrangements.
Edwin Herbert Ashcraft
Edwin Herbert Ashcraft, 98, formerly from Grayville, died on Thursday, November 19, at the home of his daughter in Albion
Services for Edwin Herbert Ashcraft are pending at the Cook Chapel in Grayville.
Norman C. "Norm" Lake
69-year-old Flora resident, Norman C. "Norm" Lake, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 16, at his home. He was a truck driver and retired from Southwire in Flora.
Surviving are a daughter, Darla Simmons of Xenia; two sons, Eric Lake of Louisville, IL and Chris Lake of Port Richey, FL; six brothers, Calvin of Clay City, Boyd "Buck" Lake of Hopkinsville, KY, Lloyd "Chuck" Lake of Pantha, TX, Roger of Mahomet, IL, Gary of Fairfield and Justin of Oakland City, IN; one sister, Kaye Withrow of Bluford; and two grandchildren.
Private family services for Norman C. "Norm" Lake will be held. Burial will be in Elliott Cemetery at Toledo, IL.
Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora is in charge of the arrangements.
Eddie Wayne Taylor
A Memorial Service for Eddie Wayne Taylor, who died Novermber 13th at his home in Fairfield, will be held at 12 noon Saturday, November 21 at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.
Gilbert J. "Jimmy" Karcher
86-year-old McLeansboro resident, Gilbert J. "Jimmy" Karcher died at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, at Riverview Apartments in East Peoria, IL. A WW II veteran, he served in the U.S. Army at the rank of First Lieutenant in the European Theater and received three Battle Stars. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Karcher served on the First Unit 10 School Board for 2 years, the Hamilton Memorial Hospital Board for 18 years. He served on the Hamilton County ASCS County Committee for 21 years, the Hamilton County Extension Council, the North Hamilton County Coal Association when it was formed until a couple of years ago, and was a member of the American Legion Post 106 and the VFW of McLeansboro.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Karcher of McLeansboro; two sons, Kevin and Kent Karcher, both of Washington, IL; two daughters, Karen Kinker of Olney, MD and Karla Kovarik of Naperville, IL; a sister, Marcella Miller of McLeansboro and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services for Gilbert J. "Jimmy" Karcher will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis with burial in St. John's Cemetery with military rites performed by the American Legion Post 106 of McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Friday evening, Nov. 20, at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hamilton Memorial Hospital District Foundation and will be accepted at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Heather Lynn Young Porter
25-year-old former Flora resident, Heather Lynn Young Porter of Okeechobee, FL died at 1:05 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the home of her parents in Cape Coral, FL. She was a student and employee of Radio Shack at Port Saint Lucie, FL.
Surviving are her husband Eric A. Porter of Okeechobee, FL; two daughters, Kaleya Lynn Porter, age 22 months, and Kylar Mae Porter, age seven months both at home; her parents, Jeff and Karrie Young of Cape Coral, FL; one sister, Vanessa Young of Cape Coral, FL; two brothers, Nathan Young and Sean Young both of Cape Coral, FL; her grandfather, Bud Clark of Iuka and her father and mother-in-law, Rick and Jean Porter of Flora.
Funeral services for Heather Lynn Young Porter will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, at the First Baptist Church in Flora. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Flora.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, at the First Baptist Church in Flora.
Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Kaleya and Kylar Porter College Education Fund, and will be accepted at the church or at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.
Hershel Junior Trotter
80-year-old Rt. 2 Dahlgren resident, Hershel Junior Trotter died at 11:18 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was retired from Airtex Products.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Trotter of Dahlgren; a son, Danny Trotter of Dahlgren; daughters, Diana Draper of McLeansboro and Debbie Austin of Wayne City; a sister, Mable Buchanan of Wayne City; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services for Hershel Junior Trotter will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Olive Branch Church with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Richardson Funeral Home of Wayne City, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
Linda Ann Garren
64-year-old-year-old Linda Ann Garren of Macedonia, OH died on Monday, Nov. 16, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, OH. She was retired from Allstate Insurance after 15 years of service.
Survivors include her husband, Burrell E. Garren of Macedonia, OH; a son, Craig Garren of Stowe, OH; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Garren and Leta Mosbarger; a brother, Vernon Trotter of Manhattan, NY; an aunt, Maxine Talbert of Fairfield and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Linda Ann Garren will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Friday evening, Nov. 20, at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Charlene York
80-year-old McLeansboro resident, Charlene York died at 12:03 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville. She was a retired restaurant cook.
Survivors include a son, David Tate of Eldorado, IL; daughters, Brenda Bean of Eldorado, IL and Rhonda Grant of Illinois; a companion and friend, John Laux of McLeansboro six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Services for Charlene York will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in Smith Cemetery near Broughton.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 Wednesday vening, Nov. 18, at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Norman C. Lake
69-year-old Norman C. Lake of rural Flora died Monday morning, November 16, at his home.
Arrangements are pending at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, IL.
