Audrey Richardson
88-year-old former Fairfield resident, Audrey Richardson died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 13 at Heritage Manor in Bloomington, IL.
Survivors include daughters, Laura Ramsey and Pam Witzig of Bloomington, IL and Carmen McClellan of Orange Bech, AL; five sisters, Beulah Scarbrough of Sims, Lacie of Rockford, IL, Helen of FL, Alberta of KY and Phyllis of GA; a brother, Charles Coil of Rochele, IL; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Services for Audrey Richardson will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 16 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Garrrison Cemetery in Hamilton County.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
John Robert Sutton
57-year-old McLeansboro resident, John Robert Sutton died at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 13 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was a maintenance technician employed by Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 106 of McLeansboro, and served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his mother, Margaret Sutton of McLeansboro; three sons, Dustin of Cape Girardeau, MO, Jospeh R. Sutton and Jeffrey A. Sutton both of McLeansboro; one brother, Steve of McLeansboro; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services for John Robert Sutton will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 16, at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be in Koontz Cemetery at Fairfield. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 106 of McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from noon Friday, July 16, until the time of service at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Lena Henton
88-year-old Fairfield resident, Lena Henton died at 11:29 p.m. Monday, July 12 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include daughters, Sheila Howell of Fairfield and Geneva McGraw of Geff; a son, Perry Atkinson of Patoka, IN; 8 grandchildrn, 23 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Pete Slankard of Noble.
Services for Lena Henton will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 16 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Thursday evening, July 15 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Mildred (Parker) Jamerson
87-year-old former Eldorado resident, Mildred (Parker) Jamerson, died on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Canterbury Manor Nursing Center in Waterloo, IL.
Survivors include her husband, Lowell Jamerson of Columbia, IL; two daughters, Karen Thompson of Columbia, IL, and Larna Kirsch of McLeansboro; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Parker of Fenton, MO, and Raymond Parker of Fairfield.
Funeral Services for Mildred (Parker) Jamerson will be held at Gospel Assembly Church on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery in Wayne City.
Visitation will be Friday, July 16, 2010 at Gospel Assembly Church, located at 1401 Mahoney Street in Eldorado, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado is in charge of the arrangements.
Carroll V. Vogel
56-year-old Fairfield native, Carroll V. Vogel of Seattle, WA died on Monday, July 5. He was a master builder who was widely recognized for his technical expertise in the design and construction of trails, bridges and historic structures commonly found in national parks, forests, urban greenways and other public outdoor recreation sites. He leaves behind his company Sahale and a legacy of over one hundred bridges, trails and reconstruction projects worldwide.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer and three children; his mother, Audrey Highberger, a sister, Kim, and a brother, Brian, all of Snohomish, WA; two nephews, a cousin, Lee Ann Stanford of Flora and an aunt, Anita Vogel of Fairfield.
Services are pending.
Dorothy L. Smith
81-year-old Geff resident, Dorothy L. Smith died at 5:16 p.m. Sunday, July 11 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Jerd Smith of Geff; three daughters, Brenda Helm of Fairfield, Peggy Lyons of Pawnee, IL and Kimberly Smith of East Lothian, Scotland; a brother, Ralph Porter of Clovis, CA; a sister, Gladys Mighery of Goshen, IN; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services for Dorothy L. Smith will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 15 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Wednesday evening, July 14 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the Fairfield Memorial Hospital Comfort Room or the Clay County Hospice and will be accepted at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Richard K. Rudy
74-year-old Flora resident, Richard K. Rudy died at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, July 11 at his home. He was owner and operator of JW Rudy Oil Company for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Rudy of Flora; children, Sharon Fry, Steve, David and Scott Rudy all of Flora and Jeff Rudy of Noble; a sister, Beverly Zimmerman of Ligonier, IN; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Services for Richard K. Rudy will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 15 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Wednesday evening, July 14 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.

Velda Withrow
91-year-old Fairfield resident, Velda Withrow, died at 1:55 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at Way Fair in Fairfield. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: three daughters, Cindy Kite of Mt. Vernon, IL, Deloris Bloeker of Sumner, IL, and Linda Weber of Summerfield, IL; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lola Lowry of Fairfield, and Evelyn Wolfe of Geff, IL; and one brother, Cecil Boyd of Fairfield.
Funeral Services for Velda Withrow will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Johnson and Vaughan Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial in the Arrington Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, at Johnson and Vaughan Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Earl E. Williams
80-year-old McLeansboro resident, Earl E. Williams, died at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was a retired Water Department employee with the city of McLeansboro. He also worked in construction and did oil field work. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a lifetime member of the McLeansboro American Legion Post 106, and a member of the International Laborers Union Local #1197.
Surviving are his wife Shirley; two step-sons, Jack Johnson of McLeansboro and Jim Garner of Wayne City; one daughter, Gayla Parker of McLeansboro; two step-daughters, Sandra Adamecz of McLeansboro and Angie Calkin of Dahlgren; six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Earl E. Williams will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be in Digby Hill Cemetery at Dale, IL, with full graveside military rites by the American Legion Post 106.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Memorials may be made to the family, and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Danny D. Slover
61-year-old Orchardville resident, Danny D. Slover, died at 9:53 a.m. Friday, July 9, at his home. He was retired from the Wayne County Highway Department. He was also a former member of the Orchardville Fire Department, having served 15 years, and was a member of the Poplar Creek Community of Christ Church.
Surviving are his wife Dee Slover; two daughters, Gina Green of Texico, IL and Geri Allen of Johnsonville; two sons, Jeff of Louisville, IL and Daniel of Johnsonville; two sisters, Janet Greenwalt and Beth Smith both of Orchardville; one brother, Joey of Cisne; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation for Danny D. Slover will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 12, at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne. Burial will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Orchardville Fire Department, and will be accepted at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.
