Diane Wilke Rohr

42-year-old former Flora resident, Diana L.Wilke Rohr of Port Charlotte, FL, died Monday, July 5 at her home. She had worked in medical sales, and was a former respiratory therapist.

Surviving are two brothers, William Wilke of Louisville, IL and Robert Wilke of Taylorville, IL.

A Memorial Service for Diane Wilke Rohr will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.

 

Charles Clifford "Cliff" Zimmerman

89-year-old Flora, IL resident, Charles Clifford "Cliff" Zimmerman died at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, July 8 at Burge House in Flora.

He retired in 1986 as Caretaker of Charlie Brown Park, and previously owned Zimmerman & Sons Wrecker Service, and was custodian of Flora High School. He was a WW II veteran and a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge at Flora.

Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Eaton of Flora, Trudy Zimmerman-Julius of Beecher City, IL and Nancy Weatherford of Portland, TN; two sons, Charlie of Louisville, IL and Carl of Flora; one brother, Richard of DuQuoin, IL; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Charles Clifford "Cliff" Zimmerman will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 12, at Cisne Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne. There will be full military rites at the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice and will be accepted at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.

 

Verla Ruth Keeton

90-year-old former McLeansboro Resident, Verla Ruth Keeton of Collinsville, died on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 6:45 a.m. at Maryville Manor in Maryville, IL. She had worked at Martha Manning Dress Factory for many years.

Survivors include: Gary and Kathy Tamms of Troy, IL; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services for Verla Ruth Keeton will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

The Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of the local arrangements.

 

Kevin J. Surrell

49-year-old Flora Resident, Kevin J. Surrell died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 4:50 p.m. at his home. He was a licensed inspector and mechanic for a small aircraft specializing in Mooney Aircraft.

Survivors include: his wife, Carol Brightwell Surrell of Flora; one daughter, Kaycie Surrell of Springfield, MO; one son, Jim Surrell of St. Louis, MO; four step-children; two brothers, Joe Surrell of Louisville, KY, and Jim Surrell of St. Louis, MO; and one sister, Becky Beiry of Louisville, KY.

Funeral Services for Kevin J. Surrell will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Frank and Bright Funeral Home with military honors presented at the conclusion of the service. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Newberry, MI.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, July 10 at the Frank and Bright Funeral Home in Flora.

 

Maureen Savage

91-year-old former Fairfield Resident, Maureen Savage, died at 2:28 a.m. on Monday, July 5, 2010, in Barrington, Illinois. She had been a clerk at Gualdoni Pharmacy.

Survivors include: her daughter, Cindy Osowski of Barrington, IL; one son, Chuck Savage of Jacksonville, IL; and six grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Maureen Savage will be held on Saturday, July 10, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Fairfield, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.

 

Lee Roy "Butch" Osterholtz

62-year-old Flora resident, Lee Roy "Butch" Osterholtz died on Thursday, July 8, at 5:51 a.m. at his home in rural Flora. He was a truck driver for Transcorr.

Survivors include: his spouse, Charleen Osterholtz of Flora; one daughter, Kristina Osterholtz of Flora; and one brother, Monte Osterholtz of Kinmundy, IL.

Funeral Services for Lee Roy "Butch" Osterholtz will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Frank and Bright Funeral Home in Flora, with burial in Powers Cemetery in Xenia, IL with full military honors.

Visiation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday, July 11 at Frank and Bright Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Clay County Cancer Support Group and will be accepted at Frank and Bright Funeral Home.

 

Patricia (Wickham) Knott

66-year-old Mascoutah, IL resident, Patricia (Wickham) Knott died at 6 p.m. Monday, July 5 in Houston, TX. She was a retired teacher from the Mascoutah Middle School.

Survivors include a daughter, Jodi Knott-Zilafro of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Allison, Alex and Luke Zilafro; a brother, Tom Wickham and wife, Linda of Cisne and a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Barbara Knott of St. Loseph, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Patricia (Wickham) Knott will be 6 p.m. Saturday, July 17 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

Visitation will be from 3 - 6 Saturday evening, July 17 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18 at Cisne Cemetery under the direction of the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.

Memorials may be made to Patricia Knott's Grandchildren Education Fund in care of Regions Bank at 121 E. Main Street in Mascoutah, IL.

 

Marie O. Whybark

Marie O. Whybark, 89, of Crossville, IL, died on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi, Illinois. She was a member of the Crossville Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress for Ainesbrooke Corporation in Carmi.

Survivors include: her son, Jerry Graham of Acworth, GA; her daughter, Joyce Robbins of Crossville, IL; two sisters, Cordia Seabaugh of Frederickstown, MO, and Lola Mossman of Milan, IL; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation and funeral service for Marie O. Whybark is Friday, July 9, 2010, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Crossville. Visitation is at 11:00 a.m. and continues until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in White County Memorial Gardens near Carmi.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Southern Illinois Hospice and will be accepted at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Crossville.

 

Ashley Dawn Perry Ames

23-year-old former Flora resident, Ashley Dawn Perry Ames of Urbana, IL died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 6 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She had been a waitress at Timpone's in Champaign, IL.

Survivors include her mother and step-father, Trina and Rodney Greenwood of Flora and her father, Wesley Gary Ames of Carbondale, IL; brothers, Nicholas Greenwood of Flora and Preston Greenwood of Louisville, IL; a sister, Anissa Mitchell of Flora; grandparents, Leon and Kay Perry of Flora, Ranard and Betty Greenwood of Flora, Janice Willison and Dea Ames, both of Louisville, IL.

Graveside services for Ashley Dawn Perry Ames will be 3 p.m. Saturday, July 17 at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora.

Visitation will be 5 - 8 Saturday, July 10 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.

 

Martha Mae Caldwell

88-year-old former Fairfield resident, Martha Mae Caldwell died at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday,July 6 at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Caldwell of Centralia; a son, Ron Caldwell of Centralia; a daughter, LaDonna Kay Douglas of Tuscola; three sisters, Eva Borah of Fairfield, Agnes Michaels and Naomi Clevenger, both of Fairfield; 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Martha Mae Caldwell will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Sunday, July 11 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and will be accepted at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.
