Cleta Lash
71-year-old Louisville resident, Cleta Lash died at 6:18 p.m. Wednesday, June 16 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She had been a CNA and a homemaker.
Survivors include children, Debra Jo Seidelman and Bruce Pearson of Louisville, Bennie Holman and George Pearson of Decatur and Bill Holman of Flora; a brother, Walter Lash of South Peru, IL; a sister Jo Ann Williams of North Carolina; 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
A private family service for Cleta Lash will be held later under the direction of the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
Burial will be in Orchard Hill Cemetery at Louisville.
James P. Mauck, Sr.
78-year-old former Wayne County resident, James P. Mauck, Sr. of Sullivan, IL died at 10 p.m. Monday, June 14 at Kirby Hospital in Monticello, IL. A veteran of the Korean war, he had been the Sullivan Township Assessor for 16 years. He had also served in the U.S. Army Reserves in Fairfield.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. James Mauck, Jr. of Elkhart, IN and Dr. Gregory Mauck of Sullivan; a daughter, Natalie McDowell of Monticello; a sister, Margaret Brown of Cisne; brothers and sisters-in-law, Linda and Grant Hoskins and Gene Wilborn of Geff and Marlyn and Joe Harrison of Fairfield and 15 grandchildren.
Services for James P. Mauck, Sr. will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19 at the First United Methodist Church in Sullivan with burial in Greenhill Cemetery at Sullivan.
Visitation will be from 5 - 7 Friday evening, June 18 at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan.
Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the First United Methodist Church of Sullivan and will be accepeted at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan.
Janet Mary York
68-year-old Grayville resident, Janet Mary York, died Wednesday, June 16, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was a warehouse worker for the T.J. Maxx distribution center in Evansville, IN.
Surviving are her husband Bill of Grayville; four sons, Terry Prosise of Mount Carmel, IL, Tim Prosise of Salem, IL, Bill York of Evansville, IN and Mark York of Mount Carmel, IL; four daughters, Sherry Buckman of Omaha, IL, Sheila Welch of Argenta, IL, Fawnda Winebarger of Grayville and JaVann Cook of Mount Carmel, IL; a sister, Carolyn McKenzie of Grayville; 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five nieces and one nephew.
A Memorial service for Janet Mary York will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, until the time of service at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville.
Memorials may be made to the Grayville Senior Citizens, and will be accepted at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville, which is in charge of the arrangements.
Benson "Benny" Steele
64-year-old McLeansboro resident, Benson "Benny" Steele, died at 11:27 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, at his home. He was a Laborer for the International Laborers Union Local 1197.
Surviving are his wife Rita; four daughters, Patty Burger and Kelly Steele both of McLeansboro, Teri Wiggins of Mount Vernon, IL and Karen "K.K." Coy of Wayne City; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Marcia Bond of Dahlgren; five brothers, Jimmy JoeSteele and his wife Donna, Dean Cocke, and Bruce Page all of McLeansboro, Charlie Page of Mount Vernon, IL and Billy Page of Broughton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Benson "Benny" Steele will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 21, at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery at McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 20, at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Mildred Knackmuhs
78-year-old Albion resident, Mildred Knackmuhs died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, June 15 at Rest Haven Manor in Albion. She had worked at Champion Laboratories for over 20 years.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel of Albion; two daughters, Linda Ethell of Springfield, IL and Janie Brady of Chatham, IL; two sons, Fred Knackmuhs of Albion and Steve Knackmuhs of Albion; a sister, Florence Reid of West Salem; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services for Mildred Knackmuhs will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 18 at the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem with burial in Wabash Cemetery west of West salem.
Visitation will be from 5 - 7 Thursday evening, June 17 at the Ingram Funeral Home of West Salem.
Memorials may be made to the Bone Gap Christian Church and will be accepted at the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem.
Norman L. Barr
73-year-old Cisne resident, Norman L. Barr died at 2:34 p.m. Tuesday, June 15 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was a retired timber worker.
Survivors include a brother, Bryan and wife Inez Barr of Rinard.
Services for Norman L. Barr will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 18 at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City with burial in Thomason Cemetery

James E. Campbell
85-year-old Flora resident, James E. Campbell died at 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15 at Med Central Hospital in Mansfield, OH. He was retired Executive Vice President & General Manager of Clay Electric Cooperative.
Survivors include children, Linda Glorioso of Lexington, OH, David Campbell of Knoxville, TN and John Campbell of West Palm Beach, FL; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Services for James E. Campbell will be 7 p.m. Friday, June 18 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with a noon graveside service on Saturday, June 19 at old Providence Cemetery.

Edward L. Parr
77-year-old McLeansboro resident, Edward Lewis Parr died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 15 at his home. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired fork lift operator, having worked for 24 years at General Mills Corporation in West Chicago.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Parr; sons, James Parr, Sr. and Steven Parr of McLeansboro; a daughter, Cathy Hoover of St. Charles, IL and two grandchildren, James Parrr, Jr. and Christina Parr.
Services for Edward Lewis Parr will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 Friday evening, June 18 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Rebecca Sue Barnard
Infant Rebecca Sue Barnard, age 2 1/2 months, of Evansville, IN, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at Cincinnati Childern's Hospital.
Surviving are her parents, Brandon and Jessica (Patterson) Barnard of Evansville, IN; her twin sister, Joanna; sisters, Kenlee, Katelyn and Alexis Barnard all at home; grandparents, Kenny Patterson, Mary Patterson and Kent and Chris Barnard all of Evansville, IN; great-grandparents, Steve and Rose Castrale of Evansville, IN, Leon and Dixie Barnard of Wayne City, and Lowell and Shirley Clifton of Wayne City; and aunts and uncles, Abby Patterson of Denver, CO, Josh Patterson of Evansville, IN, Bryan Barnard of Little Rock, AR and Brandi White of Desoto, IL.
Funeral services for Infant Rebecca Sue Barnard were held Sunday, June 13, at the Bethel Temple Community Church in Evansville, IN. Private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation was held Saturday, June 12, at the Boone Funeral Home East Chapel in Evansville, IN.

Gloria Jean Linder
69-year-old Salem, IL resident, Gloria Jean Linder, die at 2:58 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, at her home. She was the Day Manager at Pizza Man.
Surviving are a son, Karl of Champaign, IL; one daughter, Staci Parmer of Hainesville, IL; one brother, Bill Buchanan of Saint Ann, MO; and one special grandson who she helped raise, Robert Linder of Salem, IL.
A Memorial Service for Gloria Jean Linder will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, at Evergreen Christian Church in Salem, IL. A Family Committal Service will be held Thursday afternoon, June 17, at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.
Vistiation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, until the time of the Memorial Service at the church.
