Evelyn Donoho

96-year-old Fairfield resident, Evelyn Donoho died at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, August 25 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include a son, Robert Donoho of Wheaton, IL; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services for Evelyn Donoho will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 29 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Saturday evening, August 28 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.

 

Mary Alice Collins

96-year-old Fairfield resident, Mary Alice Collins died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, August 24 at Wayfair Restorium in Fairfield. She was retired from the Fairfield Garment Factory.

Survivors include a daughter, Esther Hobbs of Fairfield; and two brothers, Donald Gaither of Godfrey and Robert Gaither of Taylorville, IL.

Services for Mary Alice Collins will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 27 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday, August 27 until the time of service at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to the Victory General Baptist Church and will be accepted at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.

 

Bernadine Lawrence

100-year-old Fairfield resident, Bernadine Lawrence died at 1:03 p.m. Tuesday, August 24 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. She had been a teacher, having taught in Bellmont and Fairfield Community High School.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Nancy Lawrence of Belleville; a son, Spencer Lawrence of Streator, IL; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services for Bernadine Lawrence will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 Friday evening, August 27 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.

 

Robert W. Adams

76-year-old Allendale resident, Robert W. Adams died Monday, August 23 at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel. He received his bachelor's degree at the age of 20 from the University of Illinois and earned a master's degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He taught Agriculture at the Sumner High School and also taught at Coulterville, Il and later at Allendale and Illinois State University High School at Normal, IL. He then accepted a position at Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel where he taught chemistry and physics until his retirement at age 55.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a son, Garry Wayne Adams of Joelton, IN; three daughters, Barbara Ellen Adams of Indianapolis, IN, Angela Elaine Greatline of Albion and Regina Eve Brandt of Sullivan, IL; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services for Robert W. Adams will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28 at the Pisgah Presbyterian Church near Bridgeport with burial in Bethel Cemetery at Bridgeport.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Friday evening, August 27 at the Ingram Funeral Home in Allendale, then 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the Pisgah Presbyterian Church.

Memorials may be made to the Pisgah Presbyterian Church and will be accepted at the Ingram Funeral Home in Allendale.

 

Bernetta "Becky" Bates

90-year-old Fairfield resident, Bernetta "Becky" Bates died on Monday, August 23 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. She had been a cook at the Zif Grade School and managed a motel in Fairfield.

Survivors include her husband, Burt Bates of Fairfield; a son, Rex Bates of Loveland,CO and a sister, Edna Gill of Clay City. Also surviving are three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services for Bernetta "Becky" Bates will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 26 at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne with burial in Wells Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Wednesday evening, August 25 at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.

Memorials may be made to the Denver Branch Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.

 

David M. English

69-year-old Albion resident, David M. English died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, August 21 at his home.

Survivors include two brothers, Ronnie English of Albion and Harry English of Marshall, IL; a sister, Martha Amodie of Pocatello, ID and a niece, Debbie English of Albion.

Services for David M. English will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 24 at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion with a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Dunlap Cemetery in Dennison, IL.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24 until the time of service at Nale's Funeral Home in Abion.

 

Margaret Clymer

89-year-old Fairfield resident, Margaret Clymer died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, August 21 at Way-Fair in Fairfield. She operated food stands at area fairs for many years.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles Barnett of Barnhill, and Kenneth Simpson or Maui, HA; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Per her wishes, the body will be cremated and there will be no formal services.

Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield is in charge of the arrangements.

 

Kay Baker

67-year-old Fairfield resident, Kay Baker, died at 7:26 a.m. Friday, August 20, at Select Specialty in Evansville, IN.

Surviving are her husband Frank H. Baker of Fairfield; three daughters, Sheila Loyd of Ellery, and Susan Shelton and Sharon Young both of Fairfield; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Jim Hodges of Fairfield; one half-brother, David Nelson of Mt. Erie; and two half-sisters, Joyce Reynolds and Sarah Taylor both of Fairfield.

Visitation for Kay Baker will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 23, at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. The body is to be cremated following the visitation, and ashes to be buried at Maple Hill Cemetery.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 26 at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield is in charge of the arrangements.

 

Ruby E. Wiles

68-year-old Albion resident, Ruby E. Wiles, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, August 19, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Surviving are her husband Ronald; two sons, Victor of Albion and Kent of Ellery; two brothers, Alvin (Bud) Brock and Ivan Brock both of Albion; one sister, Nettie Ile of Princeton, IN; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services for Ruby E. Wiles will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 22, at Samaria Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Nale's Funeral Home in Albion is in charge of the arrangements.

 

Goldia Lucille Barker

88-year-old McLeansboro resident, Goldia Lucille Barker died at 5:56 a.m. Friday, August 20 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.

Surviving are two sons, Robert E. Barker of Broughton and Gordon Lee Barker of Demotte, IN; three sisters, Ethel Mae Gregory of McLeansboro, Dena Young of Mt. Vernon, IL and June Thomason of Fairfield; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Goldia Lucille Barker will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 22, at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be in Digby Hill Cemetery near Dale, IL.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 21, at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
