Ernest S. Lee
97-year-old Ernest S. Lee of Flora died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, June 5 at his home. He had been employed at Pure Oil Co. for 27 years and was also an area farmer.
Survivors include a son, Craig Lee of Flora; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Ernest S. Lee will be 1:30 Thursday, June 10 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with burial in the Floral Garden of Memories with military honors.
Visitatation will be from 6 - 8 Wednesday evening, June 9 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
James Woods
55-year-old Flora resident, James Woods died at 5:42 a.m. Saturday, June 5 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. He had worked at Roadmaster in Olney.
Survivors include his wife, Nora; children, Stanley and Sarah Slover of Flora and Wade Slover of Effingham; and 4 grandchildren.
There will be no funeral services for James Woods.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Tuesday evening, June 8 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association and will be accepted at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
W. Joan (Fairchild) Knowles
72-year-old rural West Salem resident, W. Joan (Fairchild) Knowles, died at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. She was a hairdresser, and operated Knowles Orchard in West Salem during the 1980's.
Surviving are her husband of over 51 years, Bruce Knowles Sr.; three sons, Bruce Knowles Jr. of Ellery, Lonnie Knowles of Browns and Robert "Bob" Knowles of rural Albion; one brother, Len Fairchild of Wichita Falls, TX; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services for W. Joan (Fairchild) Knowles will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 7, at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Frederick J. Dawson
85-year-old Fairfield resident, Frederick J. Dawson died at 8:45 p.m. Friday, June 4 at Way-Fair in Fairfield. He had been a tool and die maker at Airtex Products in Fairfield.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Dawson of Fairfield; sons, Jesse Dawson of Albion and Dwain Dawson of Fairfield; sisters, Freeda Williams of Fairfield. Evelyn Musgrave of Marion, IL and Deloris Tesmer of Iowa; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services for Frederick J. Dawson will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 9 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Tuesday evening, June 8 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be accepted at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Alta Sherman
95-year-old McLeansboro resident, Alta Sherman died at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, June 3 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include several friends and neighbors.
Graveside services for Alta Sherman will be 10 am. Monday, June 7 at Smith Cemetery near Dale.
Visitaiton will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro which is in charge of all the arrangements.
Jolly Marie (Gallagher) Michels
85-year-old former Olney resident, Jolly Marie (Gallagher) Michels died at 8:11 p.m. Thursday, June 3 at her daughter's home. She had been employed at military factories in Evansville and Indianapolis during WW II as a bullet inspector and tank track welder. She later worked at International Shoe in Olney.
Survivors include a daughter, J. Michele Dallmier of Effingham; a son, V. Mark Michels of Evansville; two sisters, June L. Pflaum of Olney and E. Jane Watkins of Noble; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Jolly Marie (Gallagher) Michels will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 6 at the First United Methodist Church in Olney with burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 - 3 Sunday afternoon, June 6 at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Crusaders Class of the First United Methodist Church, the Clay County Hospice or the donor's choice and will be accepted at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne which is in charge of all the arrangements.
Terry Atteberry
52-year-old Fairfield resident, Terry Atteberry died at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, June 3 at Way-Fair in Fairfield. He was a salesman at Kincaid's.
Surviving are his father, Donald Atteberry of Fairfield; one sister, Keila Reid of Christopher, IL; and one brother, James of Fairfield.
Funeral services for Terry Atteberry will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 6, at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. The body is to be cremated following the service.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 6, at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mildred Elizabeth Hagood
101-year-old Bone Gap resident, Mildred Elizabeth Hagood died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 2 at her home.
Survivors include two nieces, Katheryn Case of Bone Gap and Marilyn Appel of Enfield; 7 great-nieces and nephews and 7 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Servies for Mildred Elizabth Hagood will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 6 at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church at Samsville with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:30 Sunday afternoon, June 6 until the time of service at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

94-year-old Mount Vernon, IL resident, Marjorie Maurine Ellingsworth died at 2:25 p.m. Thursday, June 3 at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mount Vernon.
Funeral services for Marjorie Maurine Ellingsworth will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 6 at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Dahlgren.

82-year-old former McLeansboro resident, Robert E. Mitchell of Montgomery, IL died Friday , April 30 at his home. He was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Flora Mitchell; sons, John, Larry, Mike and Terry Mitchell of Montgomery, IL; daughters, Lola Krantz of Yorkville, IL and Mary Tryonis of Plainfield, IL; brothers, William "Bill" Mitchell of Evansville, IN, Don Mitchell of Kevel, KY and Tommy Mitchell of Tampa, FL; sisters, Nadine Dewey of Morris, IL and Mary Cluck of McLeansboro; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service for Robert E. Mitchell will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in Prospect Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from noon Saturday, June 5, until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
