Georgia (Jill) Johnson Cisne
96-year-old Cisne resident, Georgia (Jill) Johnson Cisne, died Monday, July 19, in Ithaca, NY while visiting family. She was active with many organizations over the years, including the National Audubon Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was listed in the International Who's Who of Women.
Surviving is a son, John, his wife Robin, and grandchildren Joel, Nathaniel and Martin all of Ithaca, NY.
A private interment for Georgia (Jill) Johnson Cisne will be held.
Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne is in charge of the arrangements.
Maxine Barbre
79-year-old Fairfield resident, Maxine Barbre died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, August 15 at her home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Schlag of Belle Rive, IL and Edna Ash of Fairfield; four sons, Eugene Barbre of Hendersonville, TN, Larry, Ralph and Dallas Barbre, all of Fairfield; five sisters, Geraldinie Johnston, Louise Morlan, Roberta Mills, Aneta Harrison, all of Fairfield and Ellen Morlan of Enfield; four brothers, Eugene McGill of Katy Tx, James, Kenneth and Gary McGill, all of Fairfield; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services for Maxine Barbre will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 18 at the Holiness Rescue Mission in Fairfield with burial in Richland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 Tuesday evening, August 17 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the Rock Community Church Children's Bus Ministry and will be accepted at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Aaron "Rod" Wilborn
66-year-old Fairfield resident, Aaron "Rod" Wilborn died at 3:10 p.m. Friday, August 13 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He had worked in the oilfields.
Survivors include his wife Marian; four daughters, Nicole and Shelly Wilborn of Evansville, Angie Tondini of Fairfield and Georgia Wilborn of Bluford; a son, Sammy Wilborn of Fairfield; two step-daughters, Pam Tullis and Jackie Shelton; two sisters, Rita Clark and Treva Bau, both of Fairfield; a brother, Gene Wilborn of Fairfield and several grandchildren.
The body will be cremated with a celebration of life at a later date.
Graveside services for Aaron "Rod" Wilborn will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 19 at the Maple Hill Cemetery Columbarium.
The Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home of Fairfield is in charge of all the arrangements.
Opal Ellis
84-year-old Centralia, IL resident, Opal Ellis, died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, August 13, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.
Surviving are her husband Loren of Centralia; and two daughters, Paula Ross and Cathy Green both of Centralia.
Funeral services for Opal Ellis will be at 11 a.m. Monday, August 16, at the Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 15, at the Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia.
Edith M. Ellis
94-year-old Keenes resident, Edith M. Ellis died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, August 13 at her home. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Ellis of Keenes, Anita Royce of Tempe, AZ and Janet Blankenship of Mt. Vernon; four sisters, Wilma Jenkins of Centralia, Mabel Alvis of Glen Carbon, Mamie Simmons of Texico and Ann Maronski of Downingtown, PA; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
Services for Edith M. Ellis will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 16 at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix with burial in Garrison Temple Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 Sunday evening, August 15 at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.
Memorials may be made to the Garrison Temple Cemetery or Good Samaritan Hospice and will be accepted at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.
Beulah Marie Keck
82-year-old Clay City resident, Beulah Marie Keck died at noon on Thursday, August 12 at the Clay County Hospital in Flora.
Survivors include sons, Garland Keck of Cisne and Gary Keck of Carmi; a daughter, Karla Slover of Flora; a sister, Belva Lee Smith of Clay City; sisters-in-law, Lois Eastin of Flora and Annaida Eastin of Olney; four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Services for Beulah Marie Keck will be 1 p.m. Sunday, August 15 at the Neal Funeral Home in Louisville with burial in Dillman Cemetery at Sailor Springs.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 Saturday evening, August 14 at the Neal Funeral Home in Louisville.
Wanda B. Veatch
87-year-old former Enfield resident, Wanda B. Veatch of Lawrenceville died at 5:10 a.m. Wednesday, August 11 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville. She was a beautician and owned and operated Wanda's Beauty Shop in Enfield.
Survivors include a daughter, Ethel Everett of West Frankfort; a brother, Midge Land of Florida; 5 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services for Wanda B. Veatch will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, August 14 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in Enfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
Leone (Yates) Stanford
92-year-old former Flora resident, Leone (Yates) Stanford of Arlington, TX died Tuesday, August 10 at her son's home in Hideaway, TX. She had been a private secretary at Cheffield Mfg. in Fairfield when it opened in 1937 and later worked as a legal secretary and in accounting work until retirement.
Survivors include a son, Larry Stanford of Hideaway, TX; a brother, Robert C. Yates of Edmond, OK; a sister, Mary Grace Potts of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Leone Stanford will be 1 p.m. Sunday, August 15 at Bunker Cemetery at Rinard. There will be no visitation.

Ruby Jane Shields
86-year-old McLeansboro resident, Ruby Jane Shields died at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, August 11 at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center in McLeansboro. She was a retired seamstress having worked at the former Elder Manufacturing Company in McLeansboro.
Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Sue Oliver of Joliet and Pauletta Jane Pritchett of Anderson, IN; a brother, James Henry Johnson of Beack Park, IL; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ruby Jane Shields will be noon Saturday, August 14 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in Smith Cemetery near Dale.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday, Aug. 14 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Memorials may be made to the Southern Illinois Hospice and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Betty R. McNew
84-year-old McLeansboro resident, Betty R. (Schmittler) McNew died at 6:57 p.m. Monday, August 9 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville. She worked over 30 years in the home health care services.
Survivors include a son, Jerry McNew of McLeansboro; daughters, Sharon Barter and Mary Chambers of Evansville and Sarah Lashbook of Hampton, VA; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Services for Betty R. McNew will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 12 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in the IOOF Cemetery at McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from noon Thursday, Aug. 12 until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
