Pay Cut for Troops

Before he left—-Former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta reportedly thought the military should receive a pay cut in order to respond to the budget cuts facing the Pentagon.

CNN reported that Panetta believed the Congress should effectively decrease troop salaries next year—which seemed curious at the same time that the President was signing an executive order raising the salary of Vice President Biden and other federal officials. The move by the president ended a pay freeze for Biden and the other administration officials….and will cost 11-billion dollars.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee says the pay hike even increases the salaries of federal employees who received poor performance reviews from their own supervisors.

Here’s what I think. Soldiers need not have their salaries cut. To do so would be a national disgrace. I think it is time to look at other, non-essential federal jobs that have seemed to multiply under this administration.

And as for Joe Biden’s salary…..

I think he gets paid too much already.
