Messina92-year-old McLeansboro resident, Samuel M. Messina died at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at his home. A veteran of WW II, he was employed 33 years with the Brinks Armor Service as a truck driver in St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Messina of McLeansboro; a sister-in-law, Arletta Gregory of West Frankfort; nieces and nephews Beverly and Herbert Gage of McLeansboro, Lisa and Mark Ingram of Ewing, Ill, Donna Hiller of West Frankfort and Lloyd and Bill Gregory, both of West Frankfort.

Services for Samuel S. (Sam) Messina will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16  at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in the Veterans Section of the McLeansboro IOOF Cemetery with graveside military rites performed by the American Legion Post 106.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
