Samuel Max Hamblin, age 65, of Carmi, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He married Sharon Cozart on June 3, 2004, and she survives. Sam retired from Babcock and Wilcox after thirty years of working as a welder. He enjoyed playing and listening to old music. He loved riding Harley Davidson Motocycles. He was a Mason and was a member of the May Lodge in Norris City.
Survivors include his wife Sharon; his first wife, Norma Jean Jackson; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Rachel Hamblin of Carmi; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Jeff Bartley of Carmi; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda Sue and Richard Dozier of Carmi; a sister-in-law, Francis Hamblin of Norris City; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Samuel Max Hambin will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in Marshall Ferry Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, with Masonic Burial Rites being performed at 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
