71-year-old McLeansboro resident, Stan Farlow died at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was an evangelist. He loved to play bluegrass music and gospel music on the banjo. He sang with Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, Gordon Lightfoot and the Gaithers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Abby Farlow of McLeansboro; two daughters, Jadyn Medina of Independence, KY and Ashley Denham of McLeansboro; three brothers, Tim Ballew of Sacremento, California, David Ballew of Little Rock, Arkansas and George Ballew of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Georgia McAnnally of Golconda, Stella Reynolds of McLeansboro and Earlene Bergman of Redding, California plus three grandchildren.
Services for Stan Farlow will be 12 noon Thursday, June 20 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. A burial of ashes will be conducted at the Oddfellows Cemetery in McLeansboro with graveside military rites conducted by the American Legion Post 106 of McLeansboro and the Military Honors Team of Marion, IL.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until noon Thursday, June 20 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
