Thomas Wenfield Wheeler

!cid_BE2D9F36-5216-480D-B94B-A356B0575F5C@westell87-year-old McLeansboro resident, Thomas Wenfield Wheeler died at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 at the Hamilton County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in McLeansboro. A veteran of WW II and the Korean War, he was an independent contractor, operating Tom Wheeler and Sons House Movers. He later worked for Southern Illinois University in the engineering department, and at the Camp Breckinridge Job Corps in Morganfield, KY.

Survivors include sons, Thomas D. Wheeler of Buckner, IL, Stephen Winfield Wheeler of DuQuoin, Wendell Lee Wheeler of Carbondale and Scott Wheeler of Rocky Mount, NC; ten grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Services for Thomas Wheeler will be 11 .m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro with burial in the McLeansboro IOOF Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8 Monday evening, Oct. 7 at the church.

The Gholson Funeral Home of McLEansboro is in charge of all the arrangements.
