Former McLeansboro resident, Troy Edward Hooker, age 67, of Smiths Grove, Ky., died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, in Bowling Green, Ky. In his early years, he worked on a riverboat, Del Monte, Spartan Printing, and then for General Motors for 38-plus years before his retirement in 2007 from the Bowling Green Corvette plant.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Lois (Mezo) Hooker; three daughters, Kristina Alice Coop and husband Les, Joetta Lynn Hooker and Neal Blondin, both of Smiths Grove, Ky., and Angela Renee Bright of Bowling Green, Ky.; two sons, Kevin Dewayne Hooker and wife Tabitha of Owensboro, Ky., and Michael Mezo and wife Marlene of McLeansboro; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services for Troy Edward Hooker will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
