66-year-old Grayville resident, Victor Allen Hawkins, died Tuesday, April 1 from an accident at the Grayville Industrial Park. He was a retired coal miner and equipment operator. He served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War in the Navy Seabees. He was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church, VFW and the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife Mabel of Grayville; sons, Vick (Susan) Hawkins of Mt. Carmel, IL, Dustin (Ashley) Hawkins of Albion; daughters, Joedy Hawkins of Evansville, IN, Angela (Tim) Roser of Carmi; brothers, Jackie Lee Hawkins of Philadelphia, PA, Mike Hawkins of Albion; one sister, Susan Cowling of Grayville; 14 grandchildren, Holly Shae, Blaine Tucker, Hannah, Xander, Hezekiah, Faith, Aiden, Abe, Daisy, Zeke, Allen, Promiss, Debo, Naomi and Elsie.
Funeral services for Victor Allen Hawkins will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 4 at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Burial with military rites will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Grayville.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 2 at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville.
