Together with their parents, Kevin and Kayla are pleased to announce their upcoming wedding.
Kayla is the daughter of Tiffany Minton, of Marseilles and Michael Ping of Aurora.
Kayla is a 2013 graduate of SIUC with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. Kayla is employed by the Fairfield Area Development Commission serving as Economic Developer/Zoning Administrator for the City of Fairfield.
Kevin is the son of Bryon and Chris Murphy of Fairfield and the grandson of Ray and Sue Murphy of Fairfield and Mike and Sue Maculevics, of Geff.
Kevin is a 2012 graduate of SIUC where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Sciences. He is currently employed on his family’s farm as a farmer north of Fairfield.
Kevin and Kayla will marry on March 6th, 2014 on the beach in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Their wedding reception will be held on May 24, 2014 at the Floral Hall in Fairfield. Formal invitations will be sent.
Kiersten Janelle Murbarger of Albion and Dustin Michael Johnson of Ramsey, Illinois exchanged vows on June 15, 2013. They were united in marriage at 4:00 p.m. at the West Village Christian Church north of Albion. Bro. Andy Whitten of El Dorado, Arkansas officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Lonny and Valerie Murbarger of Albion, and granddaughter of Edwin and Lila Fewkes and Barb Lister, all of Albion. The groom is the son of Mrs. Jodi (Steven) Smith of Ramsey and Mr. David (Pam) Johnson of Mulberry. Dale and Judy Rhoads, Harold and Donna Johnson, Shirley Barenfanger, and Mrytle Kern, all of the Vandalia area, are Dustin’s grandparents.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory Fit-and-Flare dress, a Jasmine design with a sweetheart neckline. The bride chose a veil hemmed with clear rhinestones, which was intertwined with the french twist in her hair. Kiersten carried a bouquet of ivory hydrangeas. The stems were wrapped with a white handerchief which was borrowed from her grandmother, Lila Fewkes, and had belonged to her great-grandmother, Evelyn Hocking.
The maid of honor was Sadie Murbarger, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids included Hallie Murbarger, sister of the bride, Jenna Turpin, friend of the bride, Jamie Hagan, Kate Jenkins, and Jill Hancock, friends of the bride who attended Lincoln Christian University with her. All of the young ladies wore knee-length coral dresses, and the bodices were wrapped differently for each bridesmaid. They carried bouquets of baby’s breath, which were designed by Nathan Gentz of The Watering Can in Albion. Elaina Hagy, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl. She wore an ivory, floor-length dress with a fitted bodice. She carried a white basket and dropped white and coral rose petals as she walked down the aisle.
Spencer Carrell, friend of the groom, Ramsey, IL, was the best man. Groomsmen were Kris Hageman, Tevis Gaylord, Justin Hagan, Sean Crocker, and Ben Harrison, all friends of the groom from Lincoln Christian University. They all wore a silver tux, white shirt, a coral vest, and a coral tie.
Michael Aaron, cousin of the bride, and Jeremy Cook, cousin of the groom, were ushers. Samantha Eller and Bailey Smith, sisters of the groom, were guestbook attendants. Lauren and Matthew Hagy and Andrew Kelly passed out bags of edible rice to throw at the bride and groom.
Sherrie Turpin, friend of the bride, was the piano accompanist during the wedding. Beautiful pictures were taken throughout the day by Lindsay McDonald.
Following the ceremony, a buffet dinner was served and a dance took place at the Mt. Zion Community Building southwest of Albion.
Friends and family from Arkansas, Alabama, Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana attended Kiersten and Dustin’s wedding.
Following their wedding, the couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Destin, Florida. They resided in El Dorado, Arkansas until November while Dustin did his youth ministry internship. Dustin is now working in Springfield, Illinois.
Natalie Vaughn and Todd Garrison of Fairfield, along with their parents announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.
The prospective bride is the daughter of Mark and Dorothy Vaughn of Fairfield. The future groom’s parents are Randy Garrison, Fairfield and Marilyn Garrison, Fairfield.
The couple is planning a small private ceremony and reception in the spring of 2014. Formal invitations will be sent.
Together with their parents, Jessica Savage and Jonathan Kuykendall are pleased to announce their upcoming union.
Jessica is the daughter of Bob and Kris Hart of McLeansboro, Russell Savage of Dahlgren, and Violet Savage of Fairfield. She is a 2007 graduate of Hamilton County High School, and is a public service representative for the Illinois Secretary of State.
Jonathan is the son of Harold and Beverly Johnson of Fairfield, and the late Howard Kuykendall of Albion. He is 2003 graduate of FCHS, and is currently enlisted in the United States Air Force with over 10 years active duty service.
The two will exchange vows November 16, 2013 at the Wayne City Church of God, Wayne City, IL.
Herb and Michelle Henson, of Flora, are please to announce the engagement of their daughter, Alyssa Marie Henson, to Aaron Daniel Rogers, son of Dan and Dalisa Rogers of Cisne.
The future bride is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. Alyssa teaches sixth grade at Lawrenceville Junior High. The future groom is a graduate from Lincoln Trail College. He currently works for Patriot Cable Construction.
The wedding date is set for October 5, 2013 at the first Christian Church in Flora.
Gary and Karen Bryant of Fairfield announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Melanie Joy to Joshua Michael Scott of Bluford.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Jake and Helen Bryant of Burnt Prairie and Bob and Regina Reed of Barnhill.
Melanie graduated from Fairfield Community High School in 2008. She graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Melanie is currently employed as a post-surgical/trauma nurse at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Joshua is the son of Michael and Marcia Scott of Bluford. He is the grandson of James and Georgia Scott of Bluford, and Jerry and Wilma Ellis of Mt. Vernon.
Joshua is a 2007 graduate of Webber Township High School. He graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, and is currently employed as an engineer at Wayne-White Counties Electric Cooperative.
The wedding ceremony will be performed by Rev. Philip Trent on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in Fairfield at the First Christian Church. Formal invitations have been sent.
Charsie Ann Haygood of Fairfield, IL and Micheal Brent Nealey of Salem, IL exchanged vows on June 8, 2013. The 4:15 pm ceremony took place at Herman Hill Village in Hermann, Missouri. Pastor Steve Edwards of Calvary United Pentecostal Church, Mt. Vernon, IL and Pastor Calvin Jean of the Apostolic Church, Salem, IL preformed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David and Loretta Haygood of Fairfield, IL and the granddaughter of Mort and the late LeeAnn Dibble of South Haven, MI and the late Ford and the late Mary Haygood of Harrisburg, AR. The groom’s parents are Brent and April Nealey of Salem, IL and the grandson of Bob and Lavon Pitts of O’Fallon, IL and Lee Otis and Patricia Butler of Sparta, TN and Bill Nealey of Waterloo, IL.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a sweetheart neckline gown with chiffon ruching on the top accented with floral beaded cap sleeves. The empire waistline was accented with jewel appliques and the bottom was fit and flare with a lace overlay. The bride carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, peonies, roses, and spider mums. Throughout the bouquet were brooches of sentimental value.
The maid of honor was Sylvia Haygood, sister of the bride, of Fairfield, IL. Bridesmaids included Alicia Nealey, sister of the groom, Salem, IL and Taylor Finley, friend of the bride, Mattoon, IL. All of the attendants wore long coral chiffon dresses with a matching chiffon shrug. They carried bouquets of hydrangeas, roses, and spider mums tied with antique white ribbon and accented with clear jewels. The flowers were designed by Shirley Miller of Fairfield, IL.
Junior bridesmaids were Brooke Dibble, cousin of the bride, South Haven, MI and Mckenzie Pitts, cousin of the groom, O’Fallon, IL. They each wore silk coral dresses with a lace overlay and accented with rhinestones at the waist. Flower girls were Morgan Wuebbels, cousin of the groom, Shiloh, IL, Grace Pitts and Riley Pitts, cousins of the groom, O’Fallon, IL. They wore silk coral dresses with a white lace overlay on the top and tulle covering the silk on the bottom. Each of the girls carried white silk baskets to toss the white and coral flower petals.
Jacob Sanders, friend of the groom, Addison, IL was the best man. Groomsmen were Cyrus Haygood, brother of the bride, Fairfield, IL and Tomas Pacheco, friend of the groom, Sparta, IL. The groom wore a light gray suit with a white shirt and a custom made plaid coral tie. The groomsmen wore darker grey suits with white shirts and custom made solid coral ties. The ring bearer was Judah Nealey, nephew of the groom, Salem, IL. Judah wore a grey suit, white shirt and a coral bowtie and carried a sign that said, “Uncle Mike here comes your Girl.”
Johathan Tolley, friend of the couple, Salem, IL was usher. Chera Edwards, friend of the bride, Mt. Vernon, IL, attended the guest book.
Chera Edwards, friend of the bride, Mt. Vernon, IL, accompanied by Sharla Edwards, Sung two special songs during the ceremony that were chosen by the bride and groom. Stetzen Fleming, friend of the couple, Mt. Vernon, IL played the piano before the ceremony.
The couple wrote their vows and also had a knot tying ceremony. During this ceremony the couple tied a fisherman’s knot out of thick rope. This knot is the strongest known and cannot be broken. The ceremony also included a memory table with pictures of the bride’s grandparents who have passed away.
Following the ceremony a formal dinner was served at Hermann Hill Village, Hermann, MO.
Friends and family from Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, and Tennessee attended the wedding.
The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Jamaica and are residing in O’Fallon, IL.
Together with their parents, Mattie Newby and Ryan Brand announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.
Mattie is the daughter of Michael and Brenda Newby of Fairfield. Her maternal grandparents are the late John and Mattie Warren of Fairfield. Her paternal grandparents are Betty Newby and the late Wilburn “Red “ Newby of Fairfield. Mattie is a 2006 FCHS graduate. She attended the University of Southern Indiana for two years and transferred to Colorado State University. In 2011 Mattie graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition. She will be applying to medical school in the spring of 2014. Mattie is currently working at SkinWise Dermatology.
Ryan is the son of Scott and Angela Brand of Niwot, Colorado. His maternal grandparents are Dr Phil and Sara Hale of Kokomo, Indiana. His paternal grandparents are Stan and Bernie Brand of Popular Bluff, Missouri. Ryan is a 2002 graduate of Carmel, Indiana high school. In 2007 Ryan graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelors of Science in economics and a minor in finance along with a Bachelor of Arts in international studies. Ryan will be graduating in the spring of 2014 with his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver, Colorado.
Mattie and Ryan will exchange their wedding vows on September 15, 2013 in Estespark, in the St. Vrain River Amphitheater at the Wild Basin Lodge in Allenspark, Colorado.
Kyler Richards, together with friends and families, announces the upcoming marriage of his parents, Kaylee Troyer and Tab Richards.
Kaylee Illene Troyer is the daughter of Bruce and Gwen Troyer. Her grandparents are Don and Emma Troyer and Dee and Willene Welty.
Kaylee is a 2008 FCHS graduate and earned her Associates Degree from Frontier in December 2009. She will graduate with her Bachelors Degree in Accounting in December 2013. She is employed part time at Troyer Electric.
Tab Andrew Richards is the son of Ty and Dianna Richards. His grandparents are Shirley Churchill and the late Phillip Churchil and Anna Richards and the late Bill Richards.
Tab is a 2005 FCHS graduate and employed at American Coal in Galatia.
The wedding will be Saturday, October 12, 2013 at four thirty in the afternoon. The wedding will be east of Fairfield at Weber’s Lake. Formal invitations have been sent.
