William “Bill” Worley, 81 of Fairfield died at 10:15 PM, Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY where he took paratrooper training and earned his wings making several jumps as a member of the 11th airborne. He finished his time in the Army at Ft. Gordon, GA as an M.P. Bill was a longtime grain and livestock farmer who helped organize the Southeastern Livestock Association and served on the board as an officer for several years. He also served on the Soil and Water Conservation Board and the Extension Board.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years Karlene (Borah) Worley, 3 children, Teresa (Sam) Keyser of Geff, Brad Worley of Fairfield, and Bruce (Bobby) Worley of Fairfield, 3 grandchildren Heidi (Jamey) Hodges, Ryan (Michelle) Keyser, and Colby Worley, 3 great grandchildren Hilary Hodges, Hayden Hodges, and Harv Keyser, a sister Joyce Vandergrift of Hebron, OH and a brother Don Worley of Colorado Springs, Co.
Funeral services for William “Bill” Worley will be Monday, April 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home with visitation from noon until the time of service on Monday.
Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery with full military rites.
