86-year-old Mill Shoals resident, William S. “Bill” Carter died at 6:45 a.m. Monday, July 29 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. He was a self-employed plumber and had been a school bus driver for Fairfield Community High School, retiring in 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Carter of Mill Shoals; six step-sons, Toby, Tim and Shawn Maxham of Fairfield; Ray Murphy of Mill Shoals, Kevin Murphy of Dyer, IN and Joey Murphy of Mill Shoals; two step-daughters, Jane Deom of Mill Shoals and Jean Wood of Cavot, Arkansas; two brothers, Bob Carter of Fairfield and Jim Carter of Evansville, IN; 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services for William S. “Bill” Carter will be 3 p.m. Thursday, August 1 at the Liberty Baptist Church at Burnt Prairie with burial in Burnt Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. Thursday, August 1 until the time of service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church or the Fairfield Memorial Hospital Comfort Room. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
