Isaiah Snowden

snowden in uniform17-year-old Opdyke, Ill. resident, Isaiah Makail Snowden died at 1:55 a.m. Sunday in Franklin County as the result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident. He was a student in his Senior year Hamilton County Unit #10 High School in Mcleansboro and a member of  the Army National Guard.

He is survived by his parents Jessie and Joyce Scott of Opdyke, IL; a brother Nathaniel Younger of Opdyke; a sister Makalia Younger of Opdyke; paternal grandmother Sheery Evilsizer (and companion Don Fry) of Flora; maternal grandparents John and Judy Phillips of Duquoin; aunts Johnny Younger of Valier, IL, Jessica Phillips of Royalton, IL, Judy Scott of Womack, IL, Amanda Roberts of Alabama and Leigh Ann Blackburn of West Frankfort, IL; uncles Patrick Evilsizer of Flora, John Evilsizer (currently stationed in Hawaii in the US Marine Corps) and Curt Scott of Centralia; an uncle and aunt Fred & Debbie Harlow; and uncle and aunt Billy & Corrine Ullery; godparents John (Papaw) and Darlene (Mammy) Roberts of Mcleansboro; and extended family members Danny, Veronica and Daniel of Benton, IL.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the General Baptist Church in Mcleansboro.  A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29th at 12:00 noon at the Old Duquoin Cemetery in Old Duquoin, IL with Rev. Jason Moore officiating.  Military rites will be conducted by the Army National Guard at the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Hamilton County High School Football Team or to the family to help with funeral expenses and will be accepted at the church or at the Gholson Funeral Home in Mcleansboro, which is in charge of the arrangements.
