District 19 Illinois State Police have announced planned patrols during the month of November in Wayne, White, Saline, and Gallatin Counties. The patrols will focus on speeding, failure to use occupant restraints, and other driving offenses. The patrols are being funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.

43-year-old Dallas Broz of Fairfield was arrested early Friday morning on a preliminary charge of aggravated domestic battery. He is accused of grabbing the alleged victim 45-year-old Dawn M. Turner of Fairfield around the neck, biting her arm and throwing her to the floor. Ms. Turner was taken by ambulance to Fairfield Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her injuries and released.

43-year-old Kenneth E. Bryant of Albion has been sentenced to four years in prison after violating his probation on a previous aggravated drunk driving conviction. Judge David Frankland re-sentenced Bryant on the original offense of Aggravated DUI—a class-4 felony.

A retirement reception will be held in honor of Edwards County Circuit Clerk Patsy Taylor on Friday, November 13th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with a group photo and remarks at 3:30 p.m.
