Harold Eugene “Gene” Goble

Goble GeneHarold Eugene “Gene” Goble, age 87 of West Salem died on November 5, 2015 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. A WW II and Korean War veteran, he worked in the oilfields for over fifty years, retiring at the age of 80.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, five daughters: Derinda Goble Tynan, Rory (John) Yates, Lannie (Tony) Hayes, Macy (Clarence) Bell and Revel (Eric Honnold) Turner, four sons: Kim Goble, Barry (Lisa) Goble, Tod (Tammy) Goble and Dink (Denise) Goble, two sisters: Lou (Walter) Hundley and Selma Franstead, two brothers: Jim (Carole) Goble and Ron (Jeanie) Goble, seventeen grandchildren: Jade and Seth Lemmons, Landon and Logan Yates, Lindsay Summerfield, Ethan Goble, Kyle, Jacob and Justin Goble, Sydney and Cale Hayes, Mariah Nichols, Megan Raber, Mallory Goble, R.J., Dalton and Santana Turner, and 17 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service for Gene Goble will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10AM at the church. Burial will follow in the Zion United Methodist Cemetery in West Salem with full military honors.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM at the Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem, IL.

Memorials may be given to the West Salem American Legion McCormack Post 658 or Richland Memorial Hospital ICU/Med. Surg. Units. Envelopes will be provided at the church.

The Ingram Funeral Home of West Salem is in charge of all of the arrangements.
