Audrey Atteberry, 81, of Carmi, Illinois, died Thursday morning, December 30, 2015 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, Illinois. A lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, she cooked countless dinners and served as Illinois State Department President in 1997. She was also a lifelong member of Carmi Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
Audrey is survived by her husband Bill of Carmi; daughter, Vickie and son-in-law Charles Craddock of Norris City, Illinois; son, Todd of Carmi and daughter-in-law Cate Davies.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Sarah Chekroun and her husband Christian of Summerville, South Carolina; Amanda Roberts of St. Louis, Missouri; Daniel Craddock of Norris City; Teelin Atteberry of Evansville, Indiana; Meg Davies of the UK; as well as countless grandchildren whom she claimed and claimed her.
Funeral services for Audrey Atteberry will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2 at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Her remains will be cremated following the service.
Visitation is 5-7 pm, Friday, January 1, 2016, at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi.
