Robert “Bob” Smith, age 95, a resident of McLeansboro, IL died at 7:11 pm on Tuesday, January 5th, 2015 at the SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. He was a retired manager of a Wholesale Grocery Sales company; a World War 2 veteran, having served in the United States Navy; and attended the First United Methodist Church in McLeansboro.
Survivors include two sons, David Smith (wife Gaye) of Lakewood Ranch, FL and Phillip Ray Smith (wife Karen) of Old Lyme, CT; 5 grandchildren: Scott Andrew Smith, Erik Adam Smith, Kelly Alexandra Smith, Elizabeth Davis Corthell, and Thomas Smith; and 6 great grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services for Robert “Bob” Smith will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 8 at the IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro. There will be no visitation.
Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery. The Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of the arrangements.
