Edna Louise (Wray) Gill

Edna Gill93-year-old Edna Louise (Wray) Gill, a resident of Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville, Illinois, formerly of West Salem and Bone Gap, Illinois, died Sunday January 17. A graduate of Asbury College now Asbury University in Wilmore Kentucky, Edna Gill was a high school English Teacher in the Edwards County School District. She retired from the Edwards County School System in 1968. She later taught in a private school in Florida. She was a member of the West Salem Christian Church. In her younger years, she taught many Sunday school classes and women’s Bible studies from her home.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Ronald E. Gill (Terry), of Bone Gap, Donald W. Gill (Judy) of Ozark, Arkansas, and one daughter, Dena Kennedy (Tim) of North Bend, Washington. Eleven Grandchildren, Jennifer Gill Cantner, Alissa Gill Stieber, Rana Gill Walker, Lindsay Gill Stevens, Kevin Gill, Amy Gill Lamplota, David Wingate PhD, Kyle Wingate, Meghan Wingate McClelland, Nathan Wingate, Miriam Wingate and Twenty Five Great Grandchildren plus one due in February. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Edna Louise (Wray) Gill will be 2 p.m. Saturday January 23, 2016 at the West Salem Christian Church with burial at Bone Gap Cemetery.

Visitation will be from Noon until the time of the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pioneer Bible Translators in the name of Tim and Erin MacSaveny, or Oil Belt Christian Service Camp at Flora, Illinois and will be received at the church or the Ingram Funeral Home, which is in charge of services.
