87-year-old Sims resident, Dorothy Maxine Galbraith died at 7:55AM Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor at Mt. Vernon, IL. For many years she was a member of the Brush Creek Church and was an ordained Elder there. Dorothy worked at the Brown Shoe Factory in Flora and also the dress factory in Wayne City, but her true love was Galbraith’s Ceramic Shop which she owned and operated for over 30 years.
She is survived by two sons John and wife Karen Galbraith of Foristell, MO and Noel and wife Dava Galbraith of Opdyke, IL. Survivors also include six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dorothy Maxine Galbraith will be 1PM Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Brush Creek Community of Christ Church at Zenith and burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7PM Saturday, January 23 at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.
Memorials may be given to Brush Creek Church and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.
