Doyle H. Briggs, 79 of Albion died Monday, January 25 at Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel, IL. Doyle owned and operated a chainsaw and mower shop, “Briggs Saw Shop” for over 30 years. He was a logger, trader, and propane service man.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn, two daughters; Jessie (Ray) Johnson of Yoakum, TX, Carla (Ed) Mercer, of Carmi, IL, three sons; Virgil (Kim) Briggs of Fairfield, IL, Jahue (Brenda) Briggs of West Salem, IL, Bill Bruce of West Salem, IL, two sisters; Lucille Watson of Devine, TX, Ester (Jack) Turner of Yoakum, TX, one brother; Nolan (Connie) Briggs of Antioch, CA, 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Doyle H. Briggs will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 28, at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion with burial will be in Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Edwards County Senior Citizens and will be accepted at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.
