Mary (Ingram) Rubenacker

rubenackerMary (Ingram) Rubenacker, age 97, a resident of McLeansboro died at 2:30 am on Monday, January 25th, 2016 at the Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.

She was a nun who was known to her students as “Sister Immaculata” when she taught at Catholic schools for 17 years, including the Catholic School at Piopolis, IL. She was also a retired elementary school teacher, having taught at the Central School in O’Fallon, IL; Mt. Pleasant School and Franklin School, both in Belleville, IL; a graduate of St. Louis University receiving a Bachelor’s degree, an associate of the Precious Blood Sisters, and a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis.

She is survived by her husband Melvin Rubenacker, a daughter Angelita Valentine (husband Dale Gauch) of Flagler Beach, FL; a brother Joseph (wife Judy) Mathews of Freeburg, IL; 3 sisters: Margaret Mary Erb of Belleville, IL; Mary Agnes “Babe” Mathews of Belleville, and Sister Mary Anthony Mathews of Ruma, IL; 2 grandchildren: Brandon Valentine (significant other Mindy Smith & her son Nicolas Smith), Crystal Valentine (husband Rodney Johnson), 3 great grandchildren Steven Wesley Valentine, Alexander Johnson, and Malakai Johnson.

Funeral services for Mary Hermina Rubenacker will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 27th, 2016 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis, IL with Mgr. Joseph Lawler and Fr. Slawomir Ptak officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 26th, 2016 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL.

An additonal visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 27th, 2016 at the Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, IL.

Burial will be at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL.
