Stanley R. Schroeder, 79, of Albion, Illinois, died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at his home. He worked for many years as custodian and track coach for the Grayville school system. In his younger years, he was an accomplished track and field athlete specializing in the pole vault. He held the pole vaulting record at Mt. Carmel High School for twenty years. He was an active member of the Browns Christian Church where he served as an Elder, Sunday School Superintendent, and Church Board Chairman.

Survivors include wife Phyllis of Albion; son Brad (Denise) Schroeder of Grayville; Pam (Bob) Orr of Albion; brother Max Theron (Marilyn Christine) Schroeder of Grayville; sister-in-law Bonnie Smith of Mt. Carmel; grandchildren Lindsay Michelle (Dustin) Wright, Deana Lynn (Brad) Boone, Ashley Ann Rude, Kayla Mishelle Schroeder, Marshall Evan Schroeder; great grandchildren Preston, Cooper, Jameson, Everleigh, Aaron, Elise, and Violet.

Funeral services for Stanley R. Schroeder will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 18 at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville with burial in Browns Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 – 7 Thursday evening, March 17 at the Cook Chapel in Grayville.

Memorials may be made to the Browns Christian Church or the Browns Cemetery Board and will be accepted at the Cook Chapel in Grayville.
