Patricia Josephine Johnson

Pat JohnsonPatricia Josephine Johnson died at 6:45 a.m.Sarturday, March 12, 2016 at her home in Fairfield. Born in England, she survived the intense German “Blitz” bombing of Liverpool during WW II. At the age of seventy, Patricia re-started her education, beginning with a GED certificate at Frontier Community College. She then enrolled and excelled in college classes. She earned Academic Honors each semester and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Patricia was chosen as the student speaker at her Frontier Community College graduation where she received the prestigious President’s Award.

She is survived by her children; Peter (Anna) Johnson of Nevada, Frances Ewing, and Philippe (English Phil) Johnson, both of Fairfield as well as four grandchildren: John Reeves, Jane Reeves, Stephen Reeves, and Sarah Pickens. In addition, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews in England also survive.

A Funeral Mass for Patricia Josephine Johnson will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Fairfield. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital through Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of the arrangements.
