Former Wayne City resident, Norman Harrison Meyers, 90, of Mt. Vernon died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Lavender Ridge Memory Care in Mt. Vernon. He was an Army veteran of WW II, serving in the Pacific, after which he received his Bachelors Degree in Sociology and taught school for several years before returning to farming.
Norman is survived by a brother James Robert Meyers of Wayne City; sisters Mary Evelyn Miller of Fairfield, Martha Lubine Barnard of Barnhill and Mary Barbara Meyers of Georgetown, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21st at the Wayne City Methodist Church with burial in Hopewell Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home of Fairfield is in charge of the arrangements.
