Valeria Flowers Combs

Valeria CombsValeria Flowers Combs, 87, of Crossville, passed away Thursday morning (March 24).  Valeria was an active member of the Church of Christ. She loved gardening and canning, flowers and bird watching. She was well known around Crossville for her culinary skills, especially her cinnamon rolls. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James D. Combs, also of Crossville and five children; Kathy Helpingstine (Mark) of Raymore, MO, Steve Combs of Crossville, Jeff Combs (Deanna) of Elkview, WV, Karen Chisholm (Tom) of Spring Hill, KS, and Robin Hale (Ron) of Norris City, IL. Also surviving are four sisters, Lillie Kennedy of Livingston, TN, Hazel Flippen of Las Vegas, NV, June Copeland and Oma Jean Bowman of Huntsville, AL. Fourteen grandchildren; Todd Helpingstine, Rachel Smith, Clifton Helpingstine, Jeremy Combs, Nicholas Combs, Samantha Hill, Levi Combs, Lydia Combs, Jennifer Helms, Steven Chisholm, Michael Chisholm, John Chisholm, Brody Combs and Dylan Kuykendall, eighteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews

The family will receive visitors at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Crossville, 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, March 28, 2016. The funeral service will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, March 29, at Crossville Church of Christ and will conclude graveside at Phillipstown Cemetery.
