77-year-old John Edward Hill of Grayville died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at his home.  John was a retired pipefitter, a graduate of Mcleansboro High School and a U.S. Navy Veteran.  He served on the USS Keppler (DDE 765).  He was a member of the Browns Chapel United Methodist Church and member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 65 since 1966.  John had several business interests including H&H Ornamental Ioron with his brother Kenny and Antiques and More with his wife.  He enjoyed building and racing stock cars, hunting, fishing, playing pool, and spending time with his friends and family.  He was an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include his wife Lilly Hill of Grayville; daughters Lisa Hill and Cheryl Hill both of Grayville, Wendy Bunting and husband Randy of Albion; brothers Kenneth (Anita) Hill of Decatur, Larry “Mick” (Linda) Hill of Evansville, IN, Gregory (Tammy) Hill of Decatur; sister Charlotte Sue Crooks of LaPlace, IL; grandchildren Stephanie Reid, Stacy Withrow, Tyler Bunting, Jered Bunting; great-grandchildren Nadia, Talia, Hailey, Makana, Isabella and Tristan; numerous nieces and nephews and his church family.

Funeral services for John Edward Hill will be held at noon Saturday, April 2nd at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time Saturday.  Burial with military rites will be in Powell Cemetery at Norris City.  Memorials may be made to the Browns Chapel United Methodist Church and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville.
