Joan E. Williams, 86, of Carmi, Illinois, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana. Joan was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carmi. She spent much of her career as a secretary for various firms in the Carmi area, most recently at Wabash-Ohio Valley Special Education District (WOVSED).
Survivors include sons David of Carmi and Jim of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister Maxine Shafer of Olney; nieces and nephew Carla Gardener, Randy Shafer and Jana McGregor.
Graveside services for Joan E. Williams will be at 10 am, Friday, April 29, 2016, at White County Memorial Gardens in Carmi. Since there is no prior visitation, family and friends are asked be at the cemetery no later than 10 am, Friday.
The Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
