61-year-old Allen Lee Michels of Cisne died Friday, June 24, 2016 on the family farm. Allen was a self-employed cattleman and farmer, a Keith Township Trustee, President of Bedford Township Fire Department Board, and a member of the Illinois Beef Association, Elm River Chowder, and Cisne Christian Church.
Allen is survived by his wife Kathy of Cisne; two daughters Sarah (Brian) Keck of Cisne and Emily (Tyler) Purcell of Salem; a son Scott (Whitney) Michels of Cisne; a sister Becky (Delbert) Rodgers of Cisne; two brothers Jay Michels of Cisne and Wilbur Michels of Clay City; six grandsons Landen, Karsen and Colten Keck, Carter and Deacon Purcell, and Matthew Albert Michels and twin granddaughters on the way. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Allen Michels will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28th at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne. Burial will be in Bunker Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, June 27th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bedford Township Fire Department or Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis and will be accepted at the funeral home.
