Verna Cleo Thackery, 90, a Burnt Prairie native, died at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Timbercreek Village in Robinson. Cleo was a 1944 graduate of Fairfield High School. She worked for Airtex in Fairfield for 11 years before becoming a full-time mother. She was a member of the Highland Avenue Baptist Church in Robinson.
Survivors include a son, Gary (Elaine) Thackrey of Martinsville, IL; by her grandchildren, Traci (Scott) Raper of Springfield, IL and Ian Thackrey of Huntingburg, IN; and by three great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Verna Cleo Thackery will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with burial in the Robinson New Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson.
Memorials may be made to the Highland Avenue Baptist Church and will be accepted at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson.
