John T. Culpepper, McLeansboro

John Culpepper87 year-old McLeansboro resident, John T. Culpepper, died at 9:28 Saturday morning at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He was a farmer, and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War conflict as a staff sergeant.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon R. McGill and husband Richard of Ava, Illinois. Four grandchildren: Joshua McGill and wife Monica of Godfrey, Illinois; Christen Drew and husband Bryan of Benton, Illinois; Jennifer McGill and Fiancé Kyle Brookman of Augusta, Georgia; Richard “Alex” McGill of Okinawa, Japan. Eight grandchildren also survive which are Olivia Drew, Victoria Drew, Jonathan McGill, Elizabeth McGill, Harrison Drew, Jason McGill, Aurora Drew, and Sarah McGill. Numerous special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for John T. Culpepper will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Reverend Rick McNeely officiating. Burial will take place at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro with Graveside Military Rites accorded by the American Legion Post 106, McLeansboro and the Military Honors Team from Belleville, Illinois.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
