Alwyn L. Wisner Moudy Lechner of West Salem died on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Olney. She earned her Teacher’s Degree from McEndree College and obtained her Master’s Degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. During her thirty nine year teaching career, she taught almost 1,000 children. She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem, the Eastern Star and the Pretty Women Red Hatter’s Club.
Alwyn is survived by her sons: Terry (Suzie) Moudy and Cary (Lori) Moudy, four grandchildren: Carl (B.J.) Moudy, Cary (Stacy) Moudy, Caleb Moudy and Jacob Moudy, three great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, one sister, Alice Pampe, one brother, Jim (Linda) Wisner, one sister-in-law, Ruth Wisner and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Alwyn L. Wisner Moudy Lechner will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 2PM at the Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem, IL.
Cremation rites were accorded and a private burial of cremains will take place at a future date.
Memorials may be given in Alwyn’s memory to the West Salem Senior Center, with envelopes provided at the service.
