Sharlene Rose (Bear) Worthey – West Salem

wothyScharlene Rose (Bear) Worthey, 72, of West Salem died on September 22, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Scharlene was a homemaker and a caregiver.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, decorating, teaching children, and cooking and eating.

Scharlene is survived by her husband, Gary, of West Salem; two daughters: Melissa (Roger) Hall of Mt. Carmel, Illinois and Shawna (Edmund) O’Brien of St. Louis, Missouri; two sons: Cord (Carmen) Bear of Ormond Beach, Florida and Dallas (Lori) Bear of Effingham, Illinois; two step-children: Andrew Worthey and Jennifer Huggins; two sisters: Diana James of Newton and Mona Chapman of Rose Hill; one brother, Calvin James of Lexington Park, Maryland; fourteen grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 4 step-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Sharlene Rose (Bear) Worthey will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the First Christian Church in West Salem with burial in Kerns Chapel Cemetery in northern Jasper County.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 26, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the First Christian Church in West Salem.  .

Memorials may be made to St. Judes with envelopes available at the service.
