99 year-old McLeansboro, Illinois resident, Ruth A. Hook, passed away on Sunday, December 11, at McLeansboro Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in McLeansboro. She was a secretary and formerly employed by Western Hair Goods in St. Louis, Missouri. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and served as an election judge in Hamilton County for many years. She also did volunteer work at McCoy Memorial Library in the Genealogy Department.

Survivors include two sons: Ralph Price and wife Verna of Granite City, Illinois and Eli Hook Jr. and wife Joyce of McLeansboro. A daughter: Janet Lientz and husband Monte of Terre Haute, Indiana. Fifteen grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Ruth A. Hook will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, December 15, at Blooming Grove Baptist Church in McLeansboro, with Ralph Hays officiating. Burial will be in Blooming Grove Cemetery in McLeansboro. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 15 at the Blooming Grove Baptist Church.
