Lawrence R. “Brownie” Brown – Carmi

Lawrence R. “Brownie” Brown, 89, of Carmi, Illinois, died Sunday, April 9, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana. Brownie was a lifelong farmer.  He was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Carmi where he enjoyed singing in the Church Choir.  He was an accomplished artist, specializing in line drawing.

Survivors include a daughter Carolyn (Jeff) Hodge of Paris, Illinois; sons Richard (Maricar) Brown, David (Sara) Brown, all of Carmi; grandchildren Logan (Jared) Anderson, Ann (Eugene) Sisneros, Cole (Tara) Hodge, Raven Brown, Robin (Joe) Kingery, Claire Brown and fiancé Nick White, Alexander Brown; great grandchildren Layla Sisneros, Ethan Hodge, Bryce Hodge, Harper Anderson, Andie Anderson, Bennett Mack Anderson.

Visitation and funeral are Monday, April 17, 2017, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi.  Visitation is at 11 am and continues to funeral at 2 pm.  Burial is in Kuykendall Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Wabash Christian Retirement Center or the United Methodist Church and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi.
