Robert L. Chamness, 82 of Mount Vernon, died on Monday evening April 17, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Robert trained Thoroughbred Race Horses for many years and spent the last part of his life shoeing horses. He was a member of the Independent Pentecostal Assembly Church in Mt. Vernon, IN and the LaMaster Pentecostal Church in Marion.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, John Robert (Bobbi) Chamness of Enfield and Cathi (Sam) Rice; grandchildren, Adam Rice, Johnnathon and Mark Chamness and great-grandchildren, Mariah and Amanda Rice.
Graveside services for Robert L. Chamness will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday April 21, 2017 at Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin, IL. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday April 20, 2017 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon, IN
