Donald Gene Ewald, 68, passed away, Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his home in Dahlgren, Illinois.
A retired farmer and truck driver he was also a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War.
Donald is survived by his wife, Regenia Ewald of Dahlgren; three sons, Shawn Ewald of McLeansboro, Shane (Cassie) Ewald of Dahlgren, Brett Ewald of Vienna; two step-sons, Steve (Joleeta) Scott of Perryville, Arkansas, Michael (Laura) Garcia of Perryville, Arkansas; three daughters, Shalonda (Matthew) Johnson of McLeansboro, Sherry (Rick) Prosise of Centralia and Shanice Ewald of Lawrence, Kansas. Fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Donald Gene Ewald will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren with burial at Richardson Hill Cemetery in Dahlgren with graveside military rites performed by the American Legion Post 106 of McLeansboro.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren.
