65 year old Geff resident, Mr. Val Anderson died at 12 PM, December 24, at Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN from complications following bypass surgery. In his lifetime he had worked at Square Post, VanFossen Oil Company as a pumper, then was Superintendent of Utilities for the Village of Geff for 17 years and then had worked two years for Carter Trucking. He was also a current member of the Geff Village Board. Val had also been a Geff school bus driver and kept score at the Geff Grade School basketball games.
He is survived by his wife Debra Atkinson, two sons, Brian (Tammy) Anderson of Geff and Brad (Melissa) Anderson of Louisville, 4 granddaughters: Brianna, Brooke, Alyssa and Ashley, and his sister Diane Anderson of, Pleasantville, NJ.
Funeral services for Val Anderson will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 1 PM, with visitation from 11 AM until service time at the service at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Donations can be made to the family for expenses and will be accepted by the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home.
