Ron “Bosco” French – McLeansboro

53-year-old McLeansboro resident, Ron “Bosco” French died at 11:20 p.m. Monday, March 12 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.  He was a correctional officer at Big Muddy Correctional Center at Ina. He had served as a deacon in the Mt. Olivet General Baptist Church in McLeansboro.

Survivors include his wife, Karen French of McLeansboro; a daughter, Kasi Sullivan and husband Jeremy of Thompsonville; a son, Jake French of McLeansboro; his mother, Peggy French of McLeansboro; a sister, Donna Strumpher and husband Glenn of McLeansboro; grandchildren, Lee, Cody, and Elliotte Sullivan; his mother-in-law, Floann Mitchell of McLeansboro; three brothers-in-law, Randy Reyling and wife Bev of Dahlgren, Jim Reyling and wife Pandora of Dahlgren and Jeff Reyling and wife Hilary of McLeansboro; three sisters-in-law, Kristy Bowers and husband Archie of McLeansboro, Rita Phillips and husband Glen of McLeansboro and Cindy Anselment and husband Tom of Dahlgren; his dog Jack and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services for Ron “Bosco” French will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17 at Mt. Olivet General Baptist Church in McLeansboro. The church will be open after 10 a.m. for viewing.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 Friday evening, March 16 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Ron’s wishes were to be cremated and a family burial of ashes will take place at a later date. The Harre Funeral Home of McLeansboro is in charge of all of the arrangements.
