William “Bill” Obrecht – Fairfield

90-year-old Fairfield resident, William “Bill” Obrecht, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, August 18th on Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Skilled Care Unit.  He was a farmer and member of the First Christian Church in Fairield.  Bill was born in Wayne County on July 31, 1928 to Ernest and Mayne (Ullom) Obrecht.  He married Bernadine Hubble on March 5th, 1950.

Surviving are his wife Bernadine of Fairfield; sons, Stanley (Kathy) Obrecht of Clay City, Larry (Debra) Obrecht of Cisne; daughters, Connie (Dale) Mays of Mt. Vernon, IL and Nancy (Brent) Evans of Fairfield; a sister, Beverly Richardson of St. Louis, MO; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Darrel Obrecht.

Funeral services for William “Bill” Obrecht will be at noon Thursday, August 23rd at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
