Bill DeHart – Clay City

80 year-old Bill Dehart of Clay City, died on August 18 at his home in Clay City with his family by his side.

Bill Dehart was born on November 15, 1937, in Clay City to Lester and Hester (Payne) Dehart. He married Karon Hobbs on July 15, 1961, at the 1st Baptist Church in Flora. Bill was a farmer and worked as the head sawyer for Aames. He was a hunter and loved the outdoors.

Bill is survived by his wife, Karon; sons, Jeff (Nancy) Dehart of Flora and Tom (Jennifer Robbins) Dehart of Clay City; grandchildren, Blaine (Amy) Dehart and Katy (Nathan) Smith; one great-grandchild, Lucy Smith; sister-in-law, Elaine Wiles; and brother-in law, Roger Hobbs.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and an infant brother.

Memorials may be directed to the Clay County Cancer Crusaders, and will be accepted at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home in Cisne.

Cremation will take place at a later date. The Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home in Cisne is in charge of all the arrangements.
