59 year-old Karen Sue Matthews of Mt. Carmel, died on Sunday, August 19 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Karen was born on March 16, 1959, to Billy and Juanita (Dunigan) Steward. Karen loved spending time with her grandchildren and spending time in the garden. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Mt. Carmel.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Jill (Bill) Reed of Cisne; three grandchildren, Ashton, Alexia and Corbin Reed; five brothers, Stanley Steward of Missouri, Robin Steward, Mickey Steward, Eddie Steward and Mike (Cynthia) Steward all of Orchardville; one sister, Becky Steward of Evansville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roger and Bruce Steward; and niece, Samantha.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 22, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home in Cisne. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Needmore Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation and memorials may be accepted at the funeral home.
