Mrs. Betty Jo Jones, 89, of Fairfield, passed away at 9:25pm on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her children and other family members. Betty Jo was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 20, 1928, the first child of Alfred and Rose (Sanders) Day. Betty and Charles Edwin Jones were married on April 12, 1947.
Betty joined her husband in Saudi Arabia in 1959, making that country their home for some 30 years, raising three children and working for numerous years for the Arabian American Oil Company . When Betty and her husband retired from Aramco, they returned to live in Fairfield, where Betty was an active and eager participant in the volunteer activities of Gamma Chi, the local chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha.
Survivors include two sons Larry (Marilyn) Jones of Fairfield and Day Jones of Milan, Italy, one daughter Lisa Motsch of Lubbock, TX, 3 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one sister Jean (Don) Robson of Fairfield, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her lifelong companion, Charles E. Jones.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12pm on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30am until the time of service at the funeral home. The Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
