Dixie Jean Caudill, age 69, of Columbus, GA, passed from this life to the next on August 27, 2018, at her home.
Dixie was born in Edwards County on December 1, 1948 to Rex and Hazel (Webb) Short. She married William “Bud” Caudill on September 6, 1969, and he preceded her in death in 2009.
Dixie was a hairdresser and, later in life, was an over-the-road truck driver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother- Douglas Short, and one sister- Patsey Dunn.
She leave many fond memories for her survivors, which include: one daughter, Kami Caudill, and one son, Kevin Caudill, both of Columbus, GA; one brother, Samuel (Connie) Short of Browns; and two uncles, Loren Webb of Albion and Bruce Webb of Grayville. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside service for Dixie Jean Caudill will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 31, at Bethel Cemetery in rural Ellery. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
